Silver Dragon Fish, also known as Osteoglossum bicirrhosum, is a freshwater fish native to the regions of Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hainan, and Guangdong. It is commonly referred to as silver dragon or silver swordtail.

In terms of coloration, silver dragon fish are characterized by their silvery scales. They can grow up to 50-70 cm in length and have a lifespan of around 6-7 years.

The physical features of these magnificent creatures include a distinctive band-like pattern on their bodies. Their mouth has a prominent lower jaw that extends beyond the upper jaw when closed. The lower jaw contains an unusual pouch-like structure which serves as an incubator for the eggs until they hatch.

The pair of barbels (whiskers) protrude from each corner of the mouth while its eyes are large and highly mobile. The scales are substantial in size with pinkish-orange edges that gradually fade over time due to growth.
