Sevenbar Wrasse, also known as Acanthurus japonicus, is a species of fish native to the waters around Sulawesi, Philippines, and the Ryukyu Islands. They are commonly referred to as "Rainbow Wrasse" or "Flower Triggerfish." These beautiful creatures have a length of 15-21 cm and can live for up to 20-30 years in captivity.
Their distinctive appearance includes an oval-shaped body that is slightly flattened on the sides. The head is small with no prominent features on the back. The mouth is small with fixed teeth and lacks any distinguishing markings. Their dorsal fin and anal fin are hard-spined with sharp tips, while their pectoral fins are nearly triangular in shape.
The Sevenbar Wrasse has a striking color pattern featuring shades of purple-blue on its body with yellow undertones towards the rear. There's a white stripe running from below each eye down towards the upper jawline. The dorsal fin and anal fin have black bases with blue edges adorned by orange stripes.
