Armenian Shepherd Dog Retrieval Training Tutorial:

(1) Mastering the Password and Action.

Password: Biting, Spitting;

Action: Use your right hand to guide the dog to take an object.

(2) Practice Process and Method.

Hold a treat or toy in your right hand, close enough for the dog to see and smell it.

Give the password while shaking the object to entice the dog's interest.

Repeat this process until the dog learns to associate the password with taking an object.

Reward your dog when they successfully retrieve an item without spitting it out.

To encourage more active participation from less enthusiastic dogs, use a soccer ball, tennis ball or soft toys. Toss them into the air or roll them on the ground to entice your Armenian Shepherd Dog to chase after them.

Throwing Game:

Sit down next to your Armenian Shepherd Dog on their left side. When they throw an object 10 meters away, call out "Take it!" as soon as they stop moving towards you.

If they don't respond immediately, gently guide them towards it by saying "Go get it!" repeatedly until they do so.

When they pick up something with their mouth, give another command saying "Hold" before rewarding them with praise and treats if done correctly.

During training sessions not only should you encourage speed but also ensure that objects are brought back smoothly within arm's reach of their owner sitting at a distance of about 10 meters from where you threw it earlier.
