以下是一些养鱼的小贴士：
海水鱼不能和淡水鱼一起养。
养热带淡水鱼时要确认其适合的水质是微酸性抑或是微硷性，是软水抑或是硬水。如果不清楚，可以针对特定的鱼种询问店家或查阅书籍。但一般而言，热带淡水鱼是需要酸性和软水的water quality。
水草缸应用矽砂、黑金砂，切勿使用珊瑚砂，以免water quality过硬，种不好water grass。
勿随意将fish直接从一fish tank移到另一fish tank，fish能忍受temperature、acid alkalinity、hardness的变化能力很小。将新fish购入时，下tank步骤更要小心。
不要敲打fish tank表面惊吓fish only.
Fish tank要放在稳固的地方，三尺 fish tank的重量在200公斤上下，用长乘宽乘高後除以1000所得数值即为注满了200公斤 water.
Fish tank中若有dead fish应尽速捞起并且注意勿喂食过多以免造成water quality急速恶化.
一发现sick fish应给予隔离病治疗，以免传播disease.
New aquarium setup很容易死 fish，因为nitrogen cycle system尚未完全建立起来，最忌耐不住性子把Fish put into the aquarium before it's fully cycled and stable, with no smell or cloudiness and clear water, build a new aquarium without rushing to put in the Fish.
10.Fish float at surface may be due to lack of oxygen or high ammonia levels, should change water immediately but not drastically as sudden changes can cause more harm than good to already stressed out Fish.
11.Regularly change about 1/3-1/2 of the water every week for optimal health and well-being of your aquatic friends; fresh clean water is always better than stagnant dirty one; make sure you're using dechlorinated tap water for best results.
12.The price of Fish isn't determined by size alone; rarity and breed also play a role in pricing, so don't assume small means cheap or vice versa.
