然而情况迅速恶化，在16日凌晨，麦峻彬因腹痛和呼吸困难被紧急送往广东省中医院。他进入ICU接受救治，并检测出休克、肝脏衰竭以及呼吸衰竭，这需要大量输血和呼吸机支持。
